In this episode, Dr. Karen takes us back to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and to the oil boom of 1901. She talks about the successes of Black people who moved to the area and pooled their resources to create Greenwood, a powerful community that came to be known as the “Black Wall Street.” Dr. Karen concludes her analysis with five key observations about how the Black residents created their prosperous lives even with restrictions and limitations.
