Harriet Tubman: Black Moses

Known as Black Moses for leading as many as 1000 Black people from slavery to freedom, Harriet Tubman’s leadership was characterized by concern for others and a willingness to risk her own life on their behalf. She so abhorred the evil of slavery that she was willing to die rather than be enslaved. As an underground railroad conductor, she was proud to say she never lost a passenger.
